Each course follows the standards set out by the Yoga Alliance in each of the 5 educational categories; Techniques, Training and Practice, Anatomy and Physiology, Philosophy & Ethical Practices, Teaching Methodology, Practicum along with a final assessment weekend.

Ashtanga and Yin Yoga Immersions / 200 Hour Foundational Yoga Teacher Training

These intensive immersions are for yoga teachers and dedicated students. Each immersion consists of 50 hours of intense training and can be taken as stand alone courses. If all immersions are successfully completed along with a final weekend intensive and assessment the student will receive their 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certificate which will enable them to register with Yoga Alliance USA as a Registered Yoga Teacher.

Each immersion consists of 45 contact hours with an additional 5 + hours of home study. It is required that the student has a regular and consistent practice in order to obtain the 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Certificate.

To obtain the 200hr certificate students are required to observe and assist in the Shala. For the 200hr training spaces are extremely limited so it is best to put your application in quickly, also please make sure you have the time to fully commit to the course and your practice.

The course is taught via; lectures, asana practice, observing and assisting in the Shala, home study, reading and assignments along with establishing a home practice.

Application Requirements:

• Open to teachers and experienced students with a steady practice, for the Ashtanga Immersions students must have a strong command of the primary series ( does not need to be perfect! Please enquire if you’re not sure of your eligibility)
• Each course can be booked individually but Level 1 must be completed as a prerequisite to Level 2.
• We would like students doing the Ashtanga immersions to practise mysore style ashtanga at the studio, preferably 3 times per week minimum, throughout the duration of the course (a class membership discount is applied to all students on the immersion training; x3 per week £40 per month x4+ £50 per month)

Ashtanga Immersion for both Level 1 & 2 An in-depth exploration of Ashtanga Yoga
(The immersion will be split into 2 courses, levels 1 and 2, each spread over 3 weekends.)

An opportunity to delve deep into the ashtanga system of yoga - both the practice and the philosophy underpinning it.
We will explore the practice through both led and mysore style classes, with the emphasis on ‘tristana’- the integration of breath & bandha, movement and drishti - to promote a deep inner focus and quiet mind.

Each course will incorporate a thorough breakdown of key postures in the primary series, to understand the intention, alignment, and foundations for each pose. Students will be expected to learn the correct vinyasa count as we go along!
We will learn when and how to modify postures when necessary, and basic anatomic principles to facilitate our understanding of the physical body.
We will introduce the art of hands on adjusting - how to read bodies in order to give effective and safe adjustments.
We will study the roots and traditions of ashtanga yoga, with an introduction to yoga philosophy focusing primarily on Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras.

To support our study, each weekend will include some simple breath work, Sanskrit chanting and deep relaxation.

Our intention in running this immersion is to give students the chance to truly embrace ashtanga yoga in it’s traditional form and to discover the transformative effects of the practice when you do. We aim to inform and educate in order to create a deeper understanding of the ashtanga method and hopefully to inspire students to continue a committed practice once it’s over!

Yin Yoga Immersion for both Level 1 & 2 - The other portion of yoga practice
(The immersion will be split into 2 courses, levels 1 and 2, each spread over 3 weekends.)

Here you will learn the elements of all things yin; philosophy, variable anatomy, asana, teaching practices, theory and much more. This is an opportunity to understand the complexities of Yin yoga and the body.

This is a comprehensive 100 hour training course split into two 50 hour immersions. The course forms part of the 200hr yoga teacher training and is also available as stand alone 50hr immersions for teachers and dedicated students.

In the first module we will cover the basics of all things Yin; history, principles, philosophy, practice, variable anatomy, tension vs compression, yin/yang relativity and its relationship to the body and practice, but most importantly how to safely practice and teach these poses. Yin is different in that it requires 'a hold time' this hold time is dependent upon many different variables - including anatomical variables.

In each immersion we will cover all of these topics - the first will give you an opportunity to gain a firm foundational knowledge of how Yin works on the physical body and how to teach it safely and effectively. The second immersion will take this several steps deeper and we will explore anatomy and variation on a more complex level along with the energetics of the practice and its effects.  We will also cover class sequencing - how to sequence for different bodies, when to offer alternatives, how to prop the body and when to use props, as well as sequencing for a yin/yang classes.

The immersion is also to help build your understanding and confidence in your anatomical understanding of yoga poses and how yoga works, so that when a student is struggling or has questions you will feel confident in your knowledge of the body and can offer safe and effective alternatives some of which are perhaps outside the normal scope of what is classed as a classic Yin posture.
