Wishing you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR from us here at Finnieston Yoga Shala. We hope you have enjoyed the festive season and are looking forward to getting back into the swing of the new year.

Beginners Intro Offer:

Intro to Mysore Workshop
Saturday 12th January 3-5.30pm 

If you like the idea of developing your own personal practice within the supportive environment of our mysore self practice classes this is the workshop for you . Mysore style is the traditional way to learn ashtanga yoga  – the students commit the sequence to memory, piece by piece, and all help and instruction is on a one to one basis, allowing each individual to progress at their own pace.
This workshop will explain everything you need to know about mysore practice!! It will allay any fears you might have, leaving you confident by the end to join any of our morning or evening mysore classes.

Intro to Arm Balancing
Saturday 9th February 3-5pm 

Arm balances and inversions can be a lot of fun. They are challenging but once you master them, they create a real sense of achievement. In the first workshop you will learn the fundamental techniques which you can apply to your everyday practice in order to successfully build the strength and flexibility required to balance on your hands and transition with ease and grace. The first workshop will teach you how to build the strength and flexibility for balancing on your hands. Learn how to engage your deep core throughout your regular yoga practice, whether that is vinyasa or ashtanga.

You will learn:

  • To increase strength and flexibility
  • How to distribute weight effectively
  • How to activate your deep core and isolate core muscle groups
  • How to move with grace and control through your practice and transitions into arm balance and inversion postures.
  • Build confidence in your own strength and ability
